Bennett sets sights on playoffs, D-1 scholarship

CJ Bennett, a 6-year DSQA veteran, quarterbacked Alonso (Florida) to a 42-6 win over Gaither to clinch one of 5A District 5′s playoff spots.
Bennett (16-of-20, 143 yards, 2 pass TD, 1 rush TD), put Alonso in the lead for good with an 11-yard touchdown run in the first quarter.
Alonso opens the playoffs Nov. 20 against Newsome.
Bennett, one of the high school players featured on the FSN show “The Ride”, has accepted a D-1 scholarship to play for Wyoming.
